The two aircraft that finally made the four-engine airliner extinct. Both are majority-composite, both are twins, both fly further on less fuel than anything before them. The A350 is the bigger machine, longer, wider, heavier, more seats, and it exists specifically to answer the 787. The 787 got there first, and in this industry being first is worth a very great deal.
The Airbus A350 is the longer of the two, at 73.79 m against 68.28 m, a difference of 5.51 m. It also has the greater wingspan, 4.63 m wider, so it is the bigger aircraft on both measures.
